My first Op

Hi all. Here is my mug shot! The hospital had to take a picture of me before the operation. His camera was much nicer than mum's!

Well the good news is that everything went really well and the doctors are very happy with me. The operation started at 9am and I was out by 10am in recovery. I then got to go back to mum and dad at 11am which was nice. I spent most of the day sleeping it off. When I woke up I was able to have a full dinner straight away. Hopefully, seeing as I can eat as normal already, I will be able to come home tomorrow, Thursday at the latest.

This was my last pic before the operation. I had to wear a silly paper gown. I asked for one in pink but they didn't have one. I wasn't allowed eat since the night before so I was starving before I went in...
But a few hours later I was able to have my dinner after my operation. It was a bit funny eating it though. Something's changed.

As I slowly woke up I realised that whenever I went to stick my tongue out my mouth it was hitting my new lip. The surgeons closed up my lip and stitched up my nose with a new tube to help it keep its shape.
It's hard to feel my face properly at the moment as it is so swollen after the operation. It still hurts a bit but it should be much better in a few days. When the swelling goes down I will post another update to you all.

Yay! Nice to see you taking the disappointment of having to wear a blue gown in your stride - you're so mature! You've also got a scarily familiar look to your visage these days, more than a little reminiscent of a certain daddy who got dropped on his head when he was a baby ...

By the way, Lynn and Jane are waiting in the wings with the lip gloss, let me know when you're ready for the onslaught.

Hi there Eilbhe, you're the bravest, strongest little girl I know. That new smile of your's is a real cutie - we'll need to watch you with the boys. Those gorgeous lips are only for kisses for mum and dad at the moment - they need them most. Ollie and Leah send a big kiss-kiss and can't wait to play again soon - they promise to be gentle with you and not to distroy your toys.
