Merry Christmas!!!

Hi Everybody! Happy Christmas,

Spent the morning opening all my presents and then playing with them. Mummy and Daddy seem to be enjoying it much more than I am. I don't think I quite get it yet!!
Mummy and Daddy had a great laugh dressing me up this morning. I think they think I am another one of my toys. Any hows... hope you all have great Christmas Day and Happy Birthday Granddad!!
My Godfather Jamie dropped in last night and gave me the biggest teddy bear ever! He's almost as big as Daddy. I've applied for planning permission to extend my cot to cater for my new "Buda Bear"! Might ask Unlce Colm to have a look at the plans and see what he can do with the space.

Getting ready for Christmas...

I can't believe it's been over a month since I updated you all. I've been really busy helping Dad with his coding for an exhibition he is working on. It has taken a lot longer than I thought but I think he is getting the hang of it. It took him ages to get to grips with the concept of a dynamic boolean search facility I showed him.

Other than that I have been having fun getting used to the cold weather. Mum brings me out for a big walk every day still and I love it. I got a new cozy bag for my pram so it's like being driven around in a sleeping bag which is great.
My Grand Uncle Kevin and Aunt Betty called in a few weeks ago. It was great to meet them for the first time. We had great fun together.
I'm spending more and more of my day laughing at the moment. Mum and Dad are very funny and so are a lot of my toys. They make the funniest noises, and so do the toys.
After months complaining about bath time, I have finally give in and now it's one of my favourite things to do. I love kicking and splashing mummy and dad and watch them panic when I try and hide in the bubbles.
Twice a day I need to just veg out in bed because I am so tired from all the playing and eating. It is very tiring work being a 4 month old.
Hazel came back from New York again and we met up with Penelope for a girlie get-together. Mum, Jan, Jan's sister Leah and Penelope's mum Keelin gate crashed our party but they stayed out of our way so it was a great laugh.
Hazel popped around to the house later that week and we both had great fun kicking about on my fancy sheepskin rug.

Hope you are all enjoying the buildup to Christmas. Will be posting before Christmas Day so watch this space!!
What do you mean it's past my bedtime, can't you see I'm busy....
Ok so tell me about this Santa guy again. Sounds interesting...

Back Home Again

I started feeling much better on Wednesday and was able to enjoy all my toys in my big hospital bed. The swelling started to go down and I was in much better form that evening.
The doctors came in that night and were so happy with me they told me I might be able to go home the next day. When I told mummy and dad they were very happy about it!
The next morning I met with the plastics team and the doctors and they cleared me to go home! I have pain killers and antibiotics to help with my recovery. They are all yummy. Nice and sweet.
Granny came over with Granddad to see me on Friday and it was great fun. Granny enjoyed holding me and I had a great giggle on her knee.
Granddad picked mummy and I up from hostpital on Thursday which was fun and it was nice to see him again on Friday when I was in much better form.
On Saturday morning I woke up in great form and was back to my old self. Didn't need any painkillers and the swelling has finally gone right down. I spent the morning chatting away with my toys and playing on mat.

I have to go back into hospital on Tuesday to have my stitches and the tube up my nose removed. They will put me to sleep again and when I wake up I will have no more silly itchy things hanging out of my nose! I get to go home soon after which is great.

PS. Just noticed that if you Google "Eilbhe", that I am the top hit!! Wohoo!

My first Op

Hi all. Here is my mug shot! The hospital had to take a picture of me before the operation. His camera was much nicer than mum's!

Well the good news is that everything went really well and the doctors are very happy with me. The operation started at 9am and I was out by 10am in recovery. I then got to go back to mum and dad at 11am which was nice. I spent most of the day sleeping it off. When I woke up I was able to have a full dinner straight away. Hopefully, seeing as I can eat as normal already, I will be able to come home tomorrow, Thursday at the latest.

This was my last pic before the operation. I had to wear a silly paper gown. I asked for one in pink but they didn't have one. I wasn't allowed eat since the night before so I was starving before I went in...
But a few hours later I was able to have my dinner after my operation. It was a bit funny eating it though. Something's changed.

As I slowly woke up I realised that whenever I went to stick my tongue out my mouth it was hitting my new lip. The surgeons closed up my lip and stitched up my nose with a new tube to help it keep its shape.
It's hard to feel my face properly at the moment as it is so swollen after the operation. It still hurts a bit but it should be much better in a few days. When the swelling goes down I will post another update to you all.

Getting Ready for Hospital

Click the play button above to view my first video diary!!! (QuickTime 7 or later required!)

Well my first operation is on Tuesday (30th of October '07). I'm a bit aprehensive about it but I think mum and dad are a bit more worried! I thought I would upload a video as I won't look the same on my next post! I intend posting a more updates over the next few days to let you know how I am getting on. I won't be out of Temple Street until Thursday... I hope they have Wireless broadband there!

3 Months Old!

Well I am now 3 months old. It's been a great month. I've realised that I now control my hands and feet and have endless fun moving them around and grabbing things. It's hard work but I am getting the hang of it.

My friend Hazel dropped in before she flew off to New York with her mum and dad. Looking forward to visiting her over there... and with the dollar so weak, might pick up myself an iPhone while I'm at it!

I took mum and dad out on their first big walk since I was born down to Glendalough. Even though it was September it was an amazing day. Had a good look at the exhibition there and I thought it imaginatively conceived, beautifully written and the use of unobtrusive interactive media in the centre was simply genius.
While I was down in Glendalough I also had my first picnic. I was great. Lots of fresh air with dinner certainly makes for an interesting burping experience after!
Dad had to go down to Cork for a few days and so Una came over to look after mum. I gave Una a hand too! Her wooly cardigan was so cuddly.

Conor came over with Adrienne another day and we had great fun playing together. Dad got very upset when he came home from work and saw the photos. I think he thought Conor was trying to hit on me. I don't think so! He's a big smelly BOY!

Mum has now found a new website. So instead of buying herself clothes from Boden.com she now spends her time browsing and buying me cool agus trendy clothes. This Pixie top is particularly fetching!
Now that it's gotten a bit colder I have had to get into my new "Pram Suit". It's so warm and cozy I fall asleep whenever I am in it. It's like a big warm blanky.
I upgraded my old motor recently. Ditched the pram and got a sporty buggy now. Saving up for alloys at the moment.(Donations welcome!) Mum unfortunately was so excited she went almost as mad as the first time I went out!
Now that I am 3 months old I enjoy nothing more before bedtime than sitting down and catching the News at 9 on RTE. It makes me want to be a politician. 17% pay rise every year would be nice. Glad to see Stan's gone too. And don't start me on Bertigate!

2 Months Old!

Well a few days ago I turned 2 months old and what a busy time it's been! After all my doctors and hospital visits I have been given a clean bill of health and I look forward to October when I don't have to go see any doctors until the 30th for my first big operation. Until then I am going to enjoy my time at home.

As we all know the Rugby World Cup is on. This photo was taken during Ireland's opening match against Namibia. It was a bit too close for comfort and I was on the edge of my seat / bouncy chair for the whole game!

My Auntie Gillian came over from Canada to visit me for the first time with Mike, Steve and Keith. It was very exciting. Some nights mum and dad went out and left me with Gill which was nice. Although whenever they got back they seemed slightly giddy and bleary eyed, I'm still trying to figure out where they went.

After hassling my dad for the last month he finally told me that my new "Blog Space" had arrived and I could get going as soon as he set it up.

Eventually he set it up and I got going. It took me a while to perfect the combination of Aperture and Photoshop and master the art of JPEG optimisation for the web (hence the delay in updating my Blog).

One weekend I went over to my Grandparents and had a big lunch. My cousin Keith got to hold me for the first time which was great and I finally got to meet Uncle Alan, Fiona, Michael and Nicholas. It was a great fun!

I had to spend almost 20 mins being burped by Gill after all the Lasagna I had. It was too yummy to stop eating!

Me and all the boys and I!

Uncle Alan was probably the most comfy person that's held me so far! He's so warm and cuddly it was great to finally meet him. Can't wait to visit London and stay there.

Another weekend we went to visit Una in Dalkey and I got to go for my first walk on Killiney Hill. Can't wait to live in Dalkey. Wish mum and dad would just buy a nice big house for me there!

Ireland v Argentina has just finished and so we are out of the world Cup. Not impressed. Dad seems very disappointed and I think he is going to get bleary eyed to forget about it. Looks like fun that!

A day in the life...

Well I have been very busy lately and so I haven't had much time to update the blog. To give you an idea of how busy I am, I thought I would show you how my day normally goes...

Having slept well the night before I wake up in my new giant cot...

Dad heads off to work and then mum gives me my breakfast. It's my favourite meal of the day.

Nearly every day I have visitors. I got to meet my cousins for the first time the other day. Tim, Jack and Neil popped around and brought me a new teddy each. Luckily my bed is big enough!! It was nice to see them even though they are smelly boys!

Dad eventually gets home for work and generally spends the rest of the evening being very silly and trying on my clothes. He can't even fit into his clothes so I don't know what he's doing...

I've started visiting my friends. It was nice to see Hazel and Jan again. I wish I had her hair. It's so funky.

Ev and Bella dropped around and I got to meet Bella for the first time. She brought me some really cool bibs. Will post some pics soon.

Whenever I feel tired I try and go for a mid afternoon nap. Sometimes I let mum and dad get into my bed for a nap too if they have been well behaved. Which isn't very often...

One of my favourite times is when I get my nappy changed. For some reason I find it really comfy and as an added bonus mum always massages my feet afterwards.

So that brings you up to date with whats happening. I'm getting bigger everyday and don't fit into my newborn clothes anymore. My teddy collection is growing and are all my clothes. I'm going to need a walk in wardrobe soon to keep it all. Thanks again to everyone for everything. Will be in touch soon.
